On the other hand, Peru is the synonym for spectacular landscapes, lost civilisations and an excellent cuisine.   • 1st Day: Sunday: Arrival in Quito

    You arrive at Quito’s International Airport. Our driver meets and greets you at the airport and drives you to the Hotel Hilton Colon where you stay overnight.

    2nd Day: Monday: City Tour in Quito

    Get ready for an exciting city-tour in Quito. Explore the labyrinth of narrow cobblestoned streets in the old town. One of the highlights is the interior of the jesuit church “La Compania”, with its golden walls and ceilings. The tour continues to the Equator where you can do a variety Equator experiments.  In the afternoon you return to the Hotel Hilton Colon where you spend the night. (B)

    3rd Day: Tuesday: Tren Crucero Quito – Latacunga

    Early morning we bring you to Quito’s Railway Station. The crew of the “Tren Crucero” will meet and greet you. As soon as the train leaves the city, you have amazing views of Mt Cotopaxi. The first stop of the train is at the Boliche Railway Station from where you visit the Cotopaxi National Park.  You have lunch at the historic hacienda San Augustin de Callo. In the afternoon you are invited to a private cultural event at the Lasso railway station. You have dinner and spend the night at the Hacienda Hotel La Cienega. (B/L/D)

    4th Day: Wednesday: Lasso – Riobamba

    The Tren Crucero leaves from the Latacunga Railway Station. The first stop is at the Nevado Rose farm. Learn about the famous Ecuadorian Roses that are exported worldwide. The train continues along the Inter-Andean valley to Ambato where you have lunch. In the afternoon the train climbs to Urbina, the highest point of your journey, at 3609 m (11’840ft). You spend the night at the Hosteria Abraspungo in Riobamba. (B/L/D)

    5th Day: Thursday: Riobamba – Huigra

    You board the “Tren Crucero” in Riobamba. The first train stop is at “La Balbanera”, Ecuador’s oldest church. Take photos of the church with the dramatic Mt. Chimborazo in the background. The train journey continues through a lush, hilly landscape to Guamote. Here you have time to explore the authentic indigenous market. The “Tren Crucero” reaches Alausi and starts its descent on the famous “Devil’s Nose” to Sibambe. You have dinner and spend the night in Huigra at the Hosteria Primavera. (B/L/D)

    6th Day: Friday: Huigra – Guayaquil

    The “Tren Crucero” enters the Pacific plain between Huigra and Bucay. You visit a Shuar indigenous community near Bucay. Learn about their customs and lifestyle and listen why the settled over the Andes from the Amazon Rainforest a few decades ago.  You have lunch at a large cacao farm. During the train journey alternate Rice, Banana and Cacao Plantation between small towns. The “Tren Crucero” reaches Duran in the early evening. From the railway station you are transferred to the Hotel Hampton Inn in Guayaquil. (B/L)

    7th Day: Saturday: Guayaquil – Lima

    Transfer to the airport in Guayaquil and flight to Lima. Our guide welcomes you at the airport in Lima and drives you to the Miraflores district where you stay at the Hotel Jose Antonio. Lima’s City Tour acclimates you to the Peruvian lifestyle. You visit the elegant Plaza Mayor with the cathedral, government and the archbishop’s palace. Get a look around Lima’s modern business district before you enjoy breathtaking views over the Pacific Ocean form the high ravine in Miraflores. You stay at the Hotel Jose Antonio for the night.     8th Day: Sunday: Lima – Cusco

    In the morning you fly from Lima to Cusco. You visit Cusco’s historic center called “the Imperial City”. One of the highlight is the Santo Domingo Convent which was built over the Koricancha, an ancient Inca Palace and worship center. Outside of Cusco, you admire the huge boulders of the Sacsayhuaman Fortress which states an example of Inca military architecture. You have a look at the Inca sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay and return then to Cusco. You spend the night at the Hotel San Augustin El Dorado. (B, L)

    9th Day: Monday: Sacred Valley

    “Awana Kancha” is your first stop on the way to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”. Observe the typical Andean animals “Guanacos“, “Llamas” “Alpacas” and “Vicuñas”. At the colorful market in Pisac, you can buy souvenirs for friends and family at home. You have lunch in a local restaurant. Stroll around Ollantaytambo, the oldest settlement in the Americas, with its inca built cobblestone streets. You stay overnight at the Hosteria Pakaritampu. (B, L, D)

    10th Day: Tuesday: Macchu Picchu & Vistadome Train

    Relax and sit back in the Vistadome Train when you travel along the Urubamba River to Augas Calientes. You explore Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas”, under guidance of an expert guide. You have lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. In the afternoon you enjoy the scenic journey on the Vistadome train back to Cusco. Overnight you stay at the Hotel San Augustin El Dorado in Cusco. (B, L)

    11th Day: Wednesday: Andean Explorer from Cusco – Puno

    You travel with the famous “Andean Explorer” train from Cusco to Puno through one of the most breathtaking Andean regions you can imagine. You have time to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, and enter into conversations with your fellow travelers. You arrive in Puno in the afternoon where you spend the night at the Sonesta Posada del Inca.  (B, L)

    12th Day: Thursday: Titicaca Lake

    Feel a fresh sea breeze during a cruise on the Lake Titicaca. The first stop is at the floating islands of the Uros. The floating islands are built with layers of reeds inside the Lake Titicaca. You continue the cruise to Taquile Island where you meet the local indigenous community. After lunch, the boat returns to Puno. You spend the night at the Hotel Sonesta Posada del Inca. (B, L)

    13th Day: Friday: Titicaca – Lima

    You stop at the ceremonial site of Sillustani, on the way to the airport for the flight to Lima. You have beautiful views over the Lake Umayo from the 12 meter high stone tower. In Lima you have free time for the rest of the day. You stay overnight at the Hotel Jose Antonio. (B)

    14th Day: Saturday: Departure

    Spend your day in Lima. A driver brings you to the Airport for your international flight. (B)
