1st Day, Thursday: Arrival in Lima
Welcome to Peru! Arrival at Lima’s International Airport, reception and transfer to your Hotel. The rest of the day you have free time. Overnight you stay in Lima.
2nd Day, Friday: Lima City Tour
In the morning, you visit the modern and colonial part of Lima, the “The City of Kings”. You start the tour in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro where you visit the impressive Huaca Huallamarca Pyramid. You will then go to the Historic Center where you visit the Santo Domingo Convent, declared a World Heritage Site and where the remains of the patron saints San Martín de Porres and Santa Rosa de Lima lie. At the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Municipality and the Cathedral you will stop for a small tasting of typical Pisco Sour. Finally you visit the Museo Larco, which houses the insuperable private collection of Treasures of Ancient Peru. This collection inspires its visitors, making them discover, understand and enjoy the more than five thousand years of Peru’s history. You will have lunch at the restaurant of the Larco Museum. (B/L)
3rd Day, Saturday: Arequipa
Morning flight from Lima to Arequipa. Leaving the luggage at the railway station, you start the city tour in Arequipa. First you visit the Plaza de Armas, a place that is surrounded by the most representative buildings of the city. Then, you visit the Church “Compañia de Jesus”, one of the oldest and important religious buildings in town. You continue through the traditional districts of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara before you go to a viewpoint, from where you have spectacular views of the volcanoes Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu, as well as the city of Arequipa. You visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina, founded in 1580, where you can appreciate its cloisters, picturesque streets and squares, which have remained unchanged over the centuries. Lunch you have at La Wayrana Restaurant. At the agreed time, you are transferred to the railway station where you check-in to the Belmond Andean Explorer Train. In the evening the train leaves the railway station in direction of Puno. You stay overnight on the train. (B/L/D)
4th Day, Sunday: Lake Titicaca
You have breakfast on the train before it reaches Puno on the shores of the Lake Titicaca. From the railway station you transfer to the port where you board a boat that brings you to the floating islands of the Uros and Taquile Islands. In Taquile you have lunch before returning to Puno. You have an afternoon tea at the railway station. The train leaves Puno in direction of Cusco in the late afternoon. You have dinner aboard the train. You spend the night on the train. (B/L/D)
5th Day, Monday: Belmond Andean Explorer – Cusco
You have breakfast on the train. Early morning you visit en route the inca site “Raqch’i” before the train reaches Cusco at 13:00 PM. From the railway station, you are transferred to your Hotel. The rest of the day you have free time in Cusco. (B).
6th Day, Tuesday: Cusco
In the afternoon, you visit the city of Cusco, also called the Imperial City of the Incas and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The tour will begin at the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and center of worship to the sun god, on which the catholic order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains to this day. Then, you will visit the Plaza de Armas, with the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city. The Fortress of Sacsayhuamán is an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Nearby is Kenko, an archaeological site where the Sun, Moon and Stars are celebrated. You will then continue to the Puca-Pucara, a place that probably had served like a “tambo”, a site of rest and lodging of the Inca. The night you spend at a Hotel in Cusco. (B)
7th Day, Wednesday: Sacred Valley of the Incas
Chinchero is a small and picturesque village that houses an important Inca archaeological center. The village has also a beautiful colonial church that we will visit. The next stop is in Urpi, a textile center which has preserved traditional Andean spinning and weaving techniques and where locals will show you how to get the colors for your looms naturally. The best views of the Sacred Valley you have from the viewpoint of Racchi. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Ollantaytambo is one of the most representative architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire and one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost an important battle. Well known for its
platforms, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress that also served as a temple. Finally, we reach the town of Ollantaytambo, known as “the only living Inca city”; it is the best example of Inca urban planning, with stone streets that have been inhabited since the 12th century. You stay overnight in the Sacred Valley. (B/L)
8th Day, Thursday: Machu Picchu
You will visit one of the most important energy centers in the world: Machu Picchu. Early morning transfer to the railway station in Ollantaytambo. You will travel by train to the village of Aguas Calientes, an experience where you will see the amazing landscape of the lower Sacred Valley of the Incas. Upon arrival, you will visit the archaeological site of Machu Picchu and discover this wonder of the world and UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the agreed time, you will descend to Aguas Calientes and board the train for your return trip to Ollantaytambo. Arrival to the Station and transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. (B/L)
9th Day, Friday: Sacred Valley – Cusco
You visit Moray, an interesting archaeological site in the heights Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will visit its huge concentric terraces, which the Incas used as a botanical laboratory. Then you will visit the salt marshes of Maras, where the finest salt of the world is extracted: the salt of Maras. The area looks like a mosaic of terraces and ponds, offering unparalleled views to those who love to take amazing photographs. Finally, on the return transfer, you will stop at the viewpoint of Urubamba where you will have a privileged view of the area. We continue our trip to the hotel in Cusco where you spend the night. 10th Day, Saturday: Departure
At the agreed time, transfer out to the Airport in Cusco for your flight to Lima where you connect to your international flight. (B)

LIMA: The Hotel Jose Antonio is 3 blocks away from the Pacific Ocean in the Miraflores district. Many restaurants, shops, cinemas and Museums are in walking distance of the hotel. CUSCO: The Hotel Eco Inn is a few paths away from the Koricancha and the Plaza de Armas. The modern hotel has very comfortable rooms, all with private shower and toilet. Breakfast is served in the Hotel’s restaurant. Many historical sites and museums are within walking distance to the hotel.
